about
Wrote this song about Professor Layton and the Unwound/Lost Future. The Professor travels into future London, and meets his former lover who died in a science experiment gone wrong decades prior.
lyrics
This letter to me tells me where to go
A clock shop down on Midland road,
Penned by whom? A friend or a foe
In time my dear boy we’ll know
Shall we jet set into the future, to see what we’ve become
I can see that time has been on your side
People on these streets have been talking
And they say it ain’t on mine
So come away with me into the future
My dear boy cuz there's no time to lose
There's no time like the present
To start solving puzzles and looking for clues
You and I must get to the bottom of what this world revolves around
Cuz a true gentleman leaves no puzzle unsolved.
And then came a face so familiar, I gave chase but she was gone without a trace, around the corner I gave chase
Flashback to the past, she was a killed in a blast, in an experiment I was aghast, but London never knew of this travesty,
The truth was hidden locked away under papers and pens
No one would hear of this tragedy again,
But they simply could not repent,
They simply could not pretend
Now they’ve created this creature,
One who’s hell bent on revenge
I can see that time hasn’t been very kind
From beneath the Thames this stronghold of madness will now rise
So come and stay with me inside this future, my bright minded scientist
There’s no sense going back and jeopardizing your right to exist
You and I must get to the bottom of what this world revolves around
Cuz a true gentleman leaves no clue unfound
I watched you die in that explosion, and yet here you are before my very eyes
I must have cried a thousand times in confusion, and disbelief you were my light
Can we settle down into the future,
And see what we become.
Can't you see time and time again I have tried
But people on these streets know nothing of your loss of life
So come and stay with me inside this future, my bright minded scientist
There’s no sense going back and jeopardizing your right to exist
You and I must get to the bottom of how this beast gets off the ground
With circling arms and towering structures, devastating canons, quite a conjuncture
I’ll circle this beast in my laytonmobile, higher we climb, Luke, take the wheel
So come and stay with me, in here forever
My time travelling scientist
Please do not turn back and erase
The lives that you and I have lived
Cuz a true gentleman needs no introduction,
Call it what you want, divine intervention
But comin for you now is professor Layton,
Here to save you from this evil contraption
